Lady Marshals compete at the State Track & Field Championships, Lyles 10th in the 3200 meters

Addison Lyles finished off her outstanding track career with a 10th place finish in the 3200 meters at Saturday’s Class 3A KHSAA State Track & Field Championships.

The Marshall County girls track and field team competed in eight events at Saturday’s Class 3A KHSAA State Track & Field Championships at the UK Track & Field Complex.

The top result of the day came from Addison Lyles with a 10th place finish in the 3200 meters. Lyles stopped the clock in 11:44.77 and it was her second straight year to qualify for state in the event. She will now turn her focus to a collegiate career in track and cross country at Harding University.

Two top 20 results came from Ann Marie Peffer with 14th in pole vault with 8-6 and Mia McGregor with a 20th place finish in triple jump with a mark of 31-8.75.

Assumption won the Class 3A team state title.
