Calvert City, KY (May 19, 2025) – On May 14, 2025 an officer was patrolling the new beach area of Kentucky Lake when he observed smoke coming from a vehicle and could smell the odor of marijuana. He made contact with the driver who admitted to smoking marijuana but advised that he did not know it was illegal. Micah John Haynes, 31, of Trenton, NJ was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.On May 16, 2025 an officer responded to Calvert City Elementary School to speak with SRO Daniel in reference to drugs being found inside a wallet that was in a bag of Capri Suns dropped off for a student’s birthday. The officer took possession of the items and made contact with the wallet owner while she was at work. She admitted that the wallet and drug related items were hers and that they contained methamphetamine residue. She advised that it was in some old belongings, and she thought that she threw it away. Celinea Skaggs, 31, of Calvert City was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
