Lady Marshals celebrate Senior Night with 10-0 shutout over Carlisle County

Lady Marshals seniors (L-R) Mylie Tynes, Merriel Jackson, Allicen Harris along with their parents, were recognized on Senior Night before they took the field against Carlisle County on Monday.

Seniors Allicen Harris, Merriel Jackson, and Mylie Tynes were honored in a pre-game ceremony before the Lady Marshals took the field and delivered a dominant Senior Night performance, shutting out Carlisle County 10-0 to improve their season record to 19-2.

Harris and Jackson will continue their softball careers at the next level—Harris has committed to Morehead State University, while Jackson will play for Shawnee Community College.

The Lady Marshals wrapped up the win in five innings, scoring 10 runs on seven hits. Marin Oakley went 2-for-3 with a double, Macy McLeod contributed a double and drove in three runs, while Trinlee Anderson had three RBIs.

Harris earned the win in the circle, striking out six and allowing just three hits in the shutout.

The three Carlisle County hits came from Gracyn Edging with two and Olivia Webb with one.

Off to a good start with four runs in the first inning – the scoring on McLeod’s double, a single from Audrey Knisley and a two-run single from Anderson. They added two more in the fourth on a sacrifice bunt by Kadence Cavitt and a groundout RBI from McLeod.

A four-run fifth inning sealed the win. Knisley drove in a run on a groundout, Anderson added another with a sacrifice, Emma Reynolds drew a bases-loaded walk, and McLeod was hit by a pitch to bring in the final run.

The Lady Marshals will host Lyon County (5-8) on Thursday at 5:30.

Senior Allicen Harris picked up the win in the Lady Marshals sixth shutout of the season. Harris struck out six and allowed just three hits over five innings.
