Mr. Lindsey Avery Hudspeth, 66

Mr. Lindsey Avery Hudspeth, 66 of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 12th, 2024, at his home.

 

Born January 8, 1959, in Calloway County, Lindsey was the son of the late Lewis Daniel and Florence Lurene (Kenley) Hudspeth. He was an outstanding athlete at Murray High School from 1974 to 1977. and was elected to the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017 for his contributions to the football, basketball, and baseball teams. Lindsey then enrolled at Murray State University and became an integral part of the Racer football team. After attending Murray State, Lindsey shared his love of football by serving as an Assistant Coach for Murray High School, under Head Coach Rick Fisher. He was later employed at Fisher-Price Toys/Mattel and retired as a supervisor from Bunzl Retail Services. Lindsey was a member of Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

 

Those left to cherish wonderful memories of Lindsey include his daughter, Charde’ Hudspeth (Chris Fletcher) of Clarksville, Tennessee; two brothers, Danny Hudspeth, wife Regina and David Hudspeth, wife Pamela, both of Murray; one sister, Rosa Hudspeth of Murray; and one grandson, Messiah Fletcher, of Clarksville, Tennessee. Lindsey also leaves behind a host of cousins, who were like brothers and sisters to him, and some special nieces and nephews who loved and adored him.

 

In addition to his parents, Lindsey was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Allen Hudspeth.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, with Pastor Timothy L. Davis II officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Murray City Cemetery.

 

Friends may visit with the family Saturday, April 19, 2025, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon at Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.

 

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Lindsey’s memory to the Main Street Youth Center, 513 South 4th Street, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
