
David Joseph McLeod, 75, of Benton, Kentucky passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
David was born on May 13, 1949, in Kuttawa, KY, to the late Joe and Nora Collie McLeod. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard before embarking on a 31-year career as a steel worker for Gerdau in Calvert City, KY. As a skilled machinist, he generously shared his knowledge, while training others to become proficient tool and diemakers. Outside of work, he continued to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter for the Fairdealing Fire Department.
David was a very hardworking man whose life was filled with dedication, service, and love. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather his family was always the center of his world and what he cherished most throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley McLeod; one daughter, Michelle Walls (Daniel) of Ledbetter; one son, Casey McLeod (Ashley) of Benton; two sisters; one brother, Jerry McLeod (Debra); one other brother; and four grandchildren, Lillie Walls, Lexi Smith, Camdyn McLeod, and Cohen McLeod.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Glenn McLeod; and his parents Joe McLeod and Nora Collie McLeod.
Private family services will be held for David at a later date.
