Maddox Cope commits to play baseball at Shawnee Community College

Maddox Cope, joined by his parents Brian and Teresa, signed to continue his baseball career at Shawnee Community College on Wednesday at Marshall County High School.

Marshall County High School senior shortstop Maddox Cope has officially committed to continue his baseball career at Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Ill. A staple in the middle infield since his sophomore season, Maddox has been a consistent presence for the Marshals, playing in 78 games leading into his senior year.

Over the past three seasons, Maddox has collected 41 hits, 29 RBIs and eight doubles. While his offensive contributions have been valuable, his true strength has been his elite defense. With 93 career putouts and a lifetime fielding percentage of .915, he has been a lockdown defender, providing reliability and leadership in the infield.

Maddox embodies the qualities of a true competitor – hardworking, resilient and determined. He leads by example, quietly putting in the work and setting the standard for his teammates. In the classroom, Maddox has maintained a 3.86 GPA. His dedication to the game and strong work ethic will undoubtedly serve him well at Shawnee and beyond.

Congratulations to Maddox, his family, and Shawnee Community College on adding such a talented and hardworking player to their program.

Maddox was joined at his signing on Wednesday by members of his family, the baseball and fishing teams, coaches and friends.
