Charlotte Vaughn passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the age of 79, after a short battle with ALS. Charlotte was the rock of her family, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was married to her loving husband, Mike Vaughn, for 57 years. She and Mike raised two children, Emily and Eric, in Paducah, where she was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church. She leaves behind countless memories of warmth, humor, and love.

Charlotte loved travel and was always eager to explore new places, but her greatest joy was time spent with family and friends. She especially cherished every moment with her grandchildren, making their time together unforgettable. Whether playing games, baking treats, planning sleepovers, or taking them to the movies, she had a special way of turning ordinary moments into cherished memories filled with laughter and love.

Her legacy includes a fulfilling career as a beloved school teacher, where she nurtured countless students with her faith-filled spirit. Even long after leaving her classroom, former students would light up whenever they saw her—many still offering a heartfelt hug as a testament to her impact on their lives. As the oldest of six siblings, she was the go-to for the family; she had a way of making everything feel a little lighter, a little easier, and a lot more full of love.

While we all know she is in heaven, to say she will be greatly missed is a vast understatement. There is a massive hole in our hearts for her. The message she would want you all to know is that her greatest desire is for all of those whose lives she touched to join her in heaven through salvation in Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her husband, Michael Wayne Vaughn; her daughter, Emily Vaughn Smith (Roger) of Franklin, Tennessee; her son, Eric Vaughn (Holly) of Brentwood, Tennessee; her sisters, Margaret Carter and Carol Wallis (Bobby), all of Paducah, and Marilyn Rogers (Johnnie) of Rockhill, South Carolina; her brothers, David Coughlin and Pat Coughlin (Janel), all of Paducah; her grandchildren, Henry Smith, Alice Smith, Amelia Smith, Bennett Vaughn, and Kinsey Vaughn; and many neices and nephews.

Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Worten Coughlin.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.

Memorial funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 10, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah, with Rev. Brian Arnold officiating.
