Calvert City, KY (March 03, 2025) – On January 06, 2025 an officer responded to the area of US Highway 62 and I-69 in reference to a collision with injuries.  A few days after the collision, the officer was made aware that one of the parties did not have active insurance at the time of the collision but had reinstated it the day after the collision.  A criminal summons was obtained.  On February 28, 2025 Brandon Watson, 21, of Paducah was served a Marshall County Criminal Summons for failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense.
On February 20, 2025 an officer responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Family Dollar where the subject was no longer at the store.  The officer reviewed the camera footage.  In an attempt to identify the subject, photos were put on the City’s social media accounts.  The person in the photos came to the police department after his family saw the post on social media.  On February 27, 2025 Christian Douglas Williams, 31, of Hickory was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.
On February 22, 2025 an officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for having front facing red lights.  While speaking with the operator of the vehicle the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage.  The operator admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages.  Shannon Lee Gregory, 52, of Ledbetter was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 3rd offense, driving on a DUI suspended license 1st offense, and improper use of red lights.
On February 24, 2025 an officer was monitoring the school zone at Calvert City Elementary when he observed a black Toyota truck traveling at a high rate of speed in a 25 mph school zone.  The officer activated his emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop.  The driver continued to drive until he reached his residence.  Chad A. Powell, 52, of Calvert City was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st offense, fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (motor vehicle), and speeding 15 mph over limit (school zone).
On February 25, 2025 an officer observed a vehicle operating with one headlight and conducted a traffic stop.  It was discovered that the driver had a DUI suspended OL and was supposed to have an ignition interlock.  The vehicle did not have one.  William John Lantz, 56, of Grand Rivers was arrested and charged with driving on a DUI suspended license 1st offense and one headlight.
On February 26, 2025 officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Family Dollar where the subjects were still in the store.  Contact was made with the subjects.  Robert Monroe Douglas Jr., 20, of 1335 Powers Road, Paducah was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.  Kenneth Dale Richardson, 43, of Golconda, IL was arrested on a McCracken County warrant for probation violation (for felony offense).  It was later discovered after reviewing video footage that he had stolen from the Family Dollar also.  He was charged on February 27, 2025 with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.
On February 28, 2025 an officer was dispatched to Fivestar in reference to a vehicle striking a guardrail on I-69.  The officer made contact with the operator who advised that he fell asleep while driving and struck the guardrail at least once.  The vehicle’s registration was expired and the driver admitted that the insurance had lapsed.  The operator also had two active warrants.  Jermel Devon Williams, 40, of Mayfield was arrested on two Graves County warrants for failure to appear.  He was also charged with no registration plates, no registration receipt, and failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense.
