Landa Faye Leidecker Martin, age 80, of Paducah, formerly of Gilbertsville, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Mercy Health- Lourdes Hospital.
Landa was born in McCracken County on July 15, 1944 to L.E. Leidecker and Ernestine Howe Leidecker. She was a proud Christian and attended church at Kentucky Lake Mission. Landa shared her love for antiquing with friends and strangers at Martin’s Country Store, the store she owned and ran with her husband. She had a passion for creativity and would enjoy decorating and gardening in her spare time.
Landa is survived by one daughter, Kathy Wood (Mark) of Gilbertsville; one son, Russell Martin of Port Charlotte, Florida; three brothers, Bobby Leidecker, Joe Leidecker, and Donny Leidecker; four grandchildren, Amanda “Mandy” Wood Dunn (Adam) of Gilbertsville, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Wood Vargo (Josh) of Gilbertsville, Jesse Martin of Malaysia, and Josh Martin of San Diego, California; and ten great grandchildren, Josie, Chloe, Sawyer, Lucy, Finnley, Rymon, Melody, and Gabriel Dunn, Rosalie Vargo, and Cody Vargo of Benton.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Russell Martin and her parents, L.E. Leidecker and Ernestine Leidecker Taylor.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations made in memory of Landa Martin to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Illinois 6060.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Moreland Cemetery in Gilbertsville.
The visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22. 2025 at Collier Funeral Home.
