
Bro. Willian Eugene Powell of Marshall County passed away at his home surrounded by his family on February 13, 2025.
Bro. Powell was born May 25, 1941 to the late Owsley Powell and the late Elliouse Johnson Powell. He loved God first, his family and church second, and hunting and fishing was a good third.
Bro. Powell was a Baptist minister, who pastored in Ballard, Marshall, and Trigg Counties. he had the honor and privilege of helping establish and plant the East Marshall Baptist Church in the Moors community. He served as Pastor there for more than 14 years. Briensburg Baptist Church, mothered and sponsored the church, Bro. C. C. Brasher was a great help in starting East Marshall Baptist Church.
Bro. Powell and his wife, Jessie made 8 mission trips to Trinidad, West Indies, witnessing many people saved there, making God their Savior. He and his wife went on many Mission trips in different Counties throughout Kentucky. He was also employed for 29 years at ISP Chemical Plant in Calvert City in the Maintenance Department.
Bro. Powell is survived by his wife of 66 years; Jessie Knight Powell: two sons; Richard Powell of Calvert City, KY and Randy Powell (Toni) of Calvert City, KY: Brother; Steven Powell of Calvert City, KY: grandchildren; Josh Powell (Megan), Jessie Powell, B.J. Posey (Brittany), Cody Powell, Logan Powell, and Johnathan Powell: great grandchildren; Erik, Abbie and Zoie Bourque, Carson Powell, Tylon Powell, Gabriel Posey, Mia Powell, Mya Powell and Landon Posey; as well as many nieces and nephews.
We want to thank Home Health and Hospice for all the help they gave us during Bro. Powell’s illness.

There will be a funeral service held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Duane Holland and Bro. C. C. Brasher officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025.
