Donald (Deb) Rickman, 80, of Benton KY passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family on February 11, 2025.

Born December 3, 1944 to Morgan and Myrtle Angle Rickman of the Palma area, he was the fourth of six children. Mr. Rickman was a lifelong resident of Marshall County and only left “home” when drafted to serve in the Army during Vietnam. He loved God first, his family second, and horses a very close third. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved building unique projects such as walking canes, cedar chests and other items. He was a retired maintenance worker from CCMA of Calvert City where he started working as a welder at the age of 18. He was also the owner/operator of Double D Auction Company and worked as a realtor with Remax of Benton, KY. Donald was an active member of the Walnut Grove Church of Christ where many members referred to him as the Barnabas of the congregation because of his words of encouragement and optimism. He served as a deacon and was a founding member of the Walnut Grove Ramp Ministry. He was a Bible class teacher and built the blessing box on the premises and worked to keep it stocked.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Patricia Newton Rickman, his two daughters Stephanie Rickman (Jamie French) of Benton and Jessica Dunigan (Darren) of Calvert City, and three grandchildren Bryce Rickman, Nashville; Maggie Vassuer and Anna Vaseur, Calvert City. He is survived by three siblings Ronnie Rickman (Anna) of Calvert City, Jackie Rainey of Benton, KY and Sam (Pam) Rickman of Lillian, Alabama, brother in law Darrell (Belinda) Newton of Benton, KY as well as several nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Liddie McAlister and Linda Hurt.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY, Jason Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens.
