Lou Jean McGregor, 97, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on January 27, 2025, at Calvert City Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Lou was born in Graves County, Kentucky, on August 12, 1927, to the late Charlie Wilson and Medie Riley Wilson. She had an immense passion for sewing and quilting and spent many years working as a seamstress for Merit Clothing Company in Mayfield before retiring. Lou’s hands were rarely still, as she often tended to her flower garden or helped her husband work on the family farm. As a New Zion Missionary Baptist Church member, her faith and family were the cornerstones of her life. One of the greatest joys in her life was raising her two sons and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Gary McGregor (Georgette) of Benton, Kentucky, and Larry McGregor (Janet) of Burna, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Michael McGregor (Kathrin), Kaitlynn Siers (Shaun), Chad McGregor (Rose), and Sunni Ogg (Cody); ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fields McGregor; one sister, Mildred Copeland; two brothers, Ermon Wilson and Erlie Wilson; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann. Bro. Mike Littrell will officiate, and burial will follow at Dowdy Cemetery.
