
Charles “Charlie” A. Garnett, a lifelong resident of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on March 12, 1964, in Paducah, to the late Clarence and Wanda Brown Garnett.
Charlie devoted 35 years of his career to the nuclear industry, where he worked as a Cascade Operator. His professional journey included roles at Lockheed Martin, Martin Marietta, USEC, and Four Rivers Nuclear. His commitment to his work and the contributions he made to the industry were deeply valued by his colleagues and the community.
Beyond his professional life, Charlie was an avid collector of comic books and a fan of Marvel movies. His love for these stories was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with others and share his enthusiasm for the adventures of his favorite heroes. Charlie’s interests also extended to music, as he was a great fan of rock music. An active individual, Charlie enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially on the golf course.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gina Grief Garnett of Kevil, KY; a son, Wes Garnett of Kevil, KY; a daughter, Whitney Garnett of Paducah; two granddaughters, Brooklyn Sweatt and Addison Sweatt; four sisters and four brothers along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak.
