Mr. Roy Thorn “Pop”, 79 of Almo, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his home.
Mr. Thorn was born on November 11, 1945 in Murray, KY to the late Roy and Allie Matheny Thorn. He retired as a route carrier for Murray Ledger and Times.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Thorn to whom he married on September 14, 1970; sisters, Levada Thorn, Lucy Stalls, Julia May Fox, Rachael Montgomery, Edna Fuqua, Mary Wallace, Josephine Thorn; a brother, William David Thorn and one granddaughter, Hallie Thorn.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Michael R. “Mikey” Thorn (Melissa “Missy”) of Murray; Allen Thorn (fiancé, Jodi Stone) of Almo; grandchildren, Kolbee Thorn of Nashville, Konner Thorn of Murray, Jacob Greathouse, Skyler Broadway, Austyn Fitzner; great grandchildren, Allison Marie Broadway and one on the way; a sister, Sheila Cox (Larry) of Paris, TN.
A private graveside service will be held at Murray City Cemetery.
