Mrs. Monika G. Tipton, 76

Mrs. Monika G. Tipton, 76, of Murray, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Murray Calloway County Hospital.

Monika was  born on August 10, 1948 in Oppenrod, Germany to the late Ludwig and Gertrude Gawlytta Haack.

Monika met her first true love, Will Rob Walston Jr., “Scooper” while he was serving in the United States Army in Germany. She proudly came to the United States and became an American citizen. Together, they raised a loving family. Rob developed Alzheimer’s and she lovingly care for him until he went on to heaven.

Monica found her second true love, Jim Tipton, and had an amazing 11 years together before he passed in late 2023.

She cherished her family and friends more than anything else. She was a woman of strong, unwavering faith in God. She was generous, thoughtful, and kind. Her love of beautiful things was evident in every aspect of her life. She enjoyed her career in retail at DK Kelly and The Place. She loved making her customers feel special and beautiful. Monica had many precious friends whom she treasured greatly. She touched the many lives of everyone she met. She was a light and a joy to all who knew and loved her. She will be incredibly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Will Rob Walston, Jr. “Scooper” and her second husband, Jim Tipton; a brother, Peter Haack and sister Karin Richardet.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two beloved daughters, Heather Walston Broadway of Murray, Holly Walston Brandsasse (Dennis) of Paducah; grandchildren, Roger Jones of Murray, Hope Versteegh of Louisville, Bo Broadway of Murray; a brother, Rainer Haack of Germany; sister, Jutta Goebel of Germany; also surviving are special friends, Rickie Ivy, Donna Starks, Espie Van Ameringen, Debbie Shapla, Evelyn Wallis, Helen Karvounis, Brenda Miller, Abby Harrell, Zach Stumph, Erica Gooch, Paige and Ken Fossett, Jimmy Tipton, Tim O’Rourke, Mitzi Garner Hughes and many more special friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray.  Richie Clendenen will officate.

Her family welcomes visitors from 1 pm until 3 pm at the Heritage Chapel.
