Shirley Moore, of Paducah, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on Wednesday, March 26, 1947, in Graves County to James and Johnnie Duncan. Shirley lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and her wonderful cooking.
A cherished member, as well as one of the founders, of Symsonia Baptist Church, Shirley found joy in fellowship and service. Her love for her flower gardens was only matched by her enthusiasm for losing herself in the pages of a good book. Shirley was not only a wonderful mother but also a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, whose love knew no bounds.
Those fortunate enough to have met Shirley will remember her as the embodiment of love. Her benevolent spirit and joyous laughter imprinted everlasting memories in the hearts of her family and the community she held dear. Shirley Moore’s legacy is one of unconditional love and nurturing, a testament to a life beautifully lived.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter, Stephanie McWha (Mark) of Benton, Kentucky; her sisters, Marilyn Cole (Gene) of Symsonia, Kentucky, Carolyn Lynch of Benton, and Judy Riley (Cotton) also of Benton; her brothers, Jimmy Duncan (Jimmie), and Joe Duncan, all of Benton; her grandchildren, Kayla Parham and Fisher Brinegar; her great grandchildren, Makia, Taleah, Trenyah, Kayleah, and Nova.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Moore; her daughter, Debbie Moore; her parents, James Doyle Duncan and Johnnie Nell Kaler Duncan; her sisters, Susan Ducan and Bobbi Scott.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the funeral home.
