David Barry Newton, 66, of Paducah passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family on December 1st, 2024.

David was born in Los Angeles, California to the late James B. Newton and Gloria Turner Brandt. He graduated from ASU. He worked as a design engineer for Honeywell Aerospace Division in Seattle, Washington. He later moved to Paducah and continued to work for Honeywell remotely until he retired in 2023.

While he enjoyed his career, he was very passionate about everything he did from being a devoted husband and father, to being a Poppi to his grandchildren.

His hobbies included designing relaxing home landscapes, bike riding, and creating music. Dave believed in the power of music and its ability to connect people from all walks of life. Having played music for most of his life, he continued to grow and develop his talents and was able to create some of his own music in his home studio.

He always loved meeting up with his beloved brother Gary at “Mumsie’s” home in Orange, California and taking in his therapy sessions at the beach.

He left an imprint on everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all.

David is survived by his wife Tina Newton, his mother Gloria Brandt of Orange California, two brothers, Gary Newton and Evan Newton, both of Seattle Washington, one Sister, Kellie Newton of Seattle, Washington,  three sons; Chris Newton of Seattle, Washington, Casey Newton (Rachel Jolly) of Indianapolis, IN, and Skylar Williams of Louisville, Ky, one daughter; Tamara Berry (Jeff Berry) of Paducah, Ky, 8 grandchildren; James and Liam Newton, Ashlyn, Emmalyn, and Jaelyn Berry, Camden and Lily Newton, and Kael Taylor.

He was proceeded in death by his father, James Newton and son, Sean Newton.

We would like to thank everyone for all the thoughts and prayers that have showered our family with comfort through this time.

A private celebration of his life will take place later this month.

Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Save the Music Foundation at savethemusic.org.
