
Loretta June Blythe, age 85, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah.
June was born in Paducah on July 8, 1939, to the late Louis and Ollie Mae Yates. She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army Paducah Corps. June served as the Bookkeeper and Social Worker for the Salvation Army, as well as Sunday School Teacher, Worship Leader, Youth Leader and all-around Prayer Warrior. Helping others through the Salvation Army was June’s life mission and her dedication over the years helped many local people in need. June was also an incredibly loving wife to her husband of 67 years, Lars Cecil Blythe, and a caring mother to her children and grandchildren. She showed much of her love through her exceptional cooking. June will be cherished by those who knew her best and remembered as being the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her two daughters, Beverly (Terry) Heady of Paducah and Pamela (Kevin) Klope of West Paducah; two sons, Lars (Molly) Blythe of Paducah and Jeff (Jeff Byas) Blythe of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Linda (Steve) Johnson of Paducah, and Sharon (Clyde) Stovall of Greenville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Heather (Matt) King, Dane (Allyson) Blythe, Dr. Emily (Lee) Johnston, Catherine (Andrew) DuPerrieu, Andrew (Megan) Klope, and Jeramie Heady; 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lars Cecil Blythe; a grandson, Eric Klope; a granddaughter, Hannah Klope; two sisters, Shirley Boyd and Peggy Yates; two brothers, Bobby Yates and Vernon Louis Yates; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm of Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Cpt. Benny Carringer officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the funeral home.
