Laureen M. Bruce (nee Weeks), age 76, of Gilbertsville, KY, formerly of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Laureen is survived by her grandson, Eric Martin; nephew, Richard Zebracki, nieces: Tracy Betustak, Christine Zebracki; step-daughter, Alison Bruce; and adoring nieces, nephews, and awesome cousins.
Laureen was preceded in death by her parents: Truman and Fern Weeks; loving husband, Alfred G. Bruce Jr.; sister, Carie Miller; niece, Michelle Zebracki; and her fur babies: Buster & Belle.
Laurie previously worked for the Town of Merrillville Fire Department. She was a foster mom, and volunteered as a Casa to advocate for neglected children. Laurie enjoyed volunteering in her community.
She enjoyed crocheting and even donated crocheted items for the homeless and elderly. Laurie also loved gardening.
She was the best aunt and nana ever!

Friends and family may meet on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Geisen-Pruzin Funeral & Cremation Services, 6360 Broadway Ave., Merrillville, IN 46410 at 10:00 AM in order to process to Calumet Park Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 10:30 AM.
