She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Gilbertsville, KY and a retired principal and teacher from the McCracken County School System.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by one son, Russell (Tammy) Shelton of Paducah, KY; one daughter, Molly Beth McElvain of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Jerry Brickeen of Florida; one sister, Carol Karaska of Florida; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Popeye” Shelton; two brothers, Tommy Brickeen and William “Bud” Brickeen; one sister, Sharon Moffitt; and her parents, Bill and Frances Hagler Brickeen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Janet Brickeen Shelton will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Interment will follow at Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
