Marshall County Exceptional Center expresses appreciation for success of 61st Exceptional Sunday

I am honored and privileged to express the Marshall County Exceptional Center’s deepest appreciation for the success of our 61st Exceptional Sunday held on Sunday, October 20th, 2024. Through the loving support of our community, local churches, philanthropic organizations, and donors, we were able to raise a little over $75,000.00!

As we are currently serving the highest number of clients ever, the funds raised from this event come at the perfect time. MCEC is the only organization of its kind in the Commonwealth of Kentucky that does not require private pay or government waiver assistance for a client to enroll, resulting in a high number of clients that attend free of charge. Therefore, days such as Exceptional Sunday are imperative to keep MCEC’s doors open.

One of the greatest parts of each year’s Exceptional Sunday is the presentation of the Elks Lodge #2707 charity golf tournament check. The Elks Lodge #2707 works tirelessly to raise funds for MCEC, and each year the Elks amaze us with their continued dedication. Simply put, there would be no MCEC without the Elks! This year the Elks donated a whopping $65,000, for which we are eternally grateful. My sincerest thanks go to every single Elks #2707 member, sponsor, and donor for yet again proving that their support and love will carry on the Exceptional Center’s mission to serve clients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

The Marshall County Exceptional Center Board of Directors, Staff, and Clients thank you again for another wonderful year of operation. We look forward to seeing what next year brings!

Sincerely,

Lindsey Walker, M.Ed, IDP
