
Glenda Mae Addis, a cherished soul known for warmth and compassion, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, in Salem, Kentucky. Born on February 20, 1952, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Glenda’s journey led her to Benton, Kentucky, where she graduated from Benton High School. Her passion for caring for others guided her to pursue a career in nursing, culminating in a Bachelor’s Degree that launched her into a lifetime of service as a registered nurse at Baptist Health Paducah and Mercy Health Lourdes Hospitals in Paducah, Kentucky.
Glenda’s life was a tapestry of love and dedication, woven with the threads of her favorite pastimes: knitting and scrapbooking. These hobbies were more than just pastimes; they were extensions of her love, creating tangible memories and warm garments for those she held dear. Her creativity and attention to detail in these crafts were second only to the love she poured into every stitch and page.
Above all, Glenda’s heart belonged to her family and her grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her unwavering support and unconditional love. Her presence was a joy at family gatherings, and her legacy of love will continue to resonate through the generations. She had a countless number of friends that were like family that she loved dearly. Glenda’s commitment to her faith was evident in her membership to Christian Fellowship Church where she was dedicated to mission work, through which she touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity.
Survivors include one son, Eric (Helen) Winstead of Paducah, Kentucky; one brother, Timothy (Rebecca) Addis of Benton, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Bradley Winstead and Maddison Winstead; and one nephew, Michael Addis.
Preceding in death were her parents, John T. Addis and Jessie Bright Addis, and one brother, Gordon Addis.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16. 2024 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Gene Oller officiating. Burial will follow at the Marshall County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m.
