Saturday’s final round of the KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Championship wrapped up the 2024 high school golf season. Rowan County’s Athena Singh held onto her five-stroke lead after round one to win by nine strokes. Singh was the only player under par at 5-under for the two-day tournament and won by nine strokes over second place finisher Kenzie Willen of Cumberland County.
Marshall County’s Katie Roberts finished tied for 31st at +21 (82-83) and CeCelia Ray finished tied for 61st at +33 (95-82).
Madison Glisson of Ballard Memorial tied for fourth at +6 (75-75) with Raegan Ramage of Cooper (75-75). Following Singh and Willen in third place was Emma Lindemoen of Sacred Heart at +5 (75-74).
The team from Sacred Heart won their second straight state title by 12 strokes after overcoming a five-stroke lead by Madison Central after round one. Madison Central, who finished second, was the 2022 state champion and runner-up to Marshall County in 2021.
