
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Swain, age 91, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Swain was born on November 24, 1932, in Cobden, Illinois to the late Emil Fritze and Myrtle (Keith) Fritze. She was the founder and owner of the Hungry Bear Restaurant in Murray for 53 years and was of the Catholic Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Swain; as well as three sisters, Gloria Stokes, Marcia Stephens, and Sandy Wombacher.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Todd and husband Lloyd of Murray, Kentucky; three sons, Steve Swain and wife Cheryl, Tim Swain and wife Beverly, and Todd Swain all of Murray, Kentucky; one sister Jeanne Erickson of Kalispell, Montana; four grandchildren, Mary Ann Armstrong, David Todd, Michael Swain and wife Kitty, and Austin Swain and wife Whitney; three step grandchildren, Brooke Clymer, Chris Fry, and Chad Fry; six great-grandchildren, Chaley Roberts, Ashlyn Hill and husband Nathan, Mya Hennenberger, Mathew Todd and wife Katie, Molly Armstrong, and Xander Todd; two step great-grandchildren, Sam Armbruster and Sierra Fry; two great-great-grandchildren, Avalyn Hill and Maize Hill; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30, Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Murray City Cemetery with Bro. Martin Severns officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
