Marshall County’s Lady Marshals and Marshals soccer teams celebrated Senior Night on Thursday at Colburn Field. A total of seven seniors along with their parents were recognized between games of the double header against Calloway County.
The Lady Marshals picked up a Senior Night win 7-0 over the Lady Lakers. Four first half goals were scored by Addi Wall following a corner kick from Rylee Teague and Chaney Green on an assist by Wall. Green again made it a 3-0 game and she earned the hat trick, scoring the fourth of the half with the assist to Macy Scott.
Wall scored her second goal of the night at the start of the second half. Scott scored to extend the lead to 6-0 and the final goal was a header from Lauren Noles following a corner taken by Teague. Goalkeeper Savannah Dodd picked up her 11th shutout of the season.
The Lady Marshals improve to 14-2-1 and 7-1 in district games. The Lady Lakers fall to 9-7 and 3-5 in the district.
The Lady Marshals are scheduled to host Bowling Green on Saturday at noon.
A Senior Night win slipped through the hands of the Marshals after leading 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Tommy Robertson. At the 26 minute mark of the second half, Calloway County tied the game on a goal by Zak Stark and less than two minutes later made it a 2-1 game on a goal by Isael Damian which held up for the Lakers victory.
With the win, the Lakers earned the regular season sweep over the Marshals after a 1-0 win on August 22. The Marshals drop to 6-7-2 and 2-6 in the district while the Lakers improve to 11-3-1 and 5-3 in district play.
The Marshals are scheduled to host Henderson County on Saturday at 3:30.
