Verna Dotson Brewer, 86, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on September 16, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at the Stilley House.
Verna was born to the late Howard Redden and Jewel Vick Redden on July 2, 1938, in Marshall County, Kentucky. Verna loved her family and spending time with her family. She was a homebody, but always made it out on the weekends to her second family at Trader’s Mall where she had a storefront selling flowers she arranged. She was a member of Briensburg Church of Christ.
Verna is survived by two daughters, Deniece Dotson Carr (Mike) and Millie Dotson Langston (Ken), both of Benton; one son, Doug Dotson (Rita) of Benton; One step-son, Terry Rutledge (Gyalia) of Augusta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Andy Carr (Amanda), Tiffany Adair (Mitchell), Tara Irvan (Brandon), Krista Lea (Brian), Tyler Dotson; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dwayne Dotson; second husband, Dave Brewer; one sister, Larue York; and her parents, Howard Redden and Jewel Vick Redden.
Expression of sympathy may take the form of donation to the Marshall County Exceptional Center, 198 Old Symsonia Road, Benton, Kentucky 42025.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky 42025
A graveside service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Union Hill Cemetery with Bro. Joshua Grooms officiating.
