Marshall County lost their first of two regular season games against Murray 2-1 but one week later on a rainy Thursday night in Draffenville, they earned the district split with a 1-0 win over the Lady Tigers.
The lone goal of the night was scored by Addi Wall at the 15 minute mark of the second half. It was Wall’s 11th goal of the season to lead the Lady Marshals. Goalkeeper Savannah Dodd picked up her eighth shutout of the season.
An opportunity for the Lady Marshals in the first half came following a corner kick taken by Rylee Teague that ultimately hit off the top goal post and was pulled in by Murray goalkeeper Ella Parker. London Lockhart had a shot on goal, scooped in by Parker, with nine minutes remaining and the score remained 0-0 at halftime.

A great save by Dodd kept Murray from tying the game up 12 minutes into the second half. Following Wall’s goal, Libby Stewart had a shot at the goal with just over seven minutes remaining, saved by the Murray keeper.
A save by Dodd with six minutes to go following a header by Kendyll English in front of the goal avoided an attempt by the Lady Tigers to tie the game up.
The Lady Marshals improve to 10-2-1 and 4-1 in the district. It was the first district loss for Murray at 5-1 and they drop to 8-3-1 overall.
Another district game is on tap next Thursday when the Lady Marshals travel to play Graves County (2-5-2).
