Alice Marie Driskill, 98, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Marie was born in Marshall County, Kentucky, on September 19, 1925, to the late Sam Barrett and Cornelia Griggs Barrett. After marrying the love of her life, Clifton Driskill, and having three sons, she spent a few years working at Ashby Chair Factory in Benton. However, for most of her life, she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother and wife. She loved all of her family and cherished the time she spent at home raising her three sons. She rarely met a stranger and was always so kind and sweet to everyone she met. Alice loved her family and the Lord and was a member of Briensburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three sons, Billy Driskill (Shelby) of Benton, Kentucky, James “Jimmy” Driskill of Marion, Kentucky, and Gary Driskill (Anita) of Benton, Kentucky; one sister, Betty Karnes of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; her three grandchildren, Dedria Moore (Chris), Chad Driskill (Amy), and Chaney Chambers (Tim); seven great-grandchildren; Casey Moore Jones of Benton, Billie Moore Griggs of Murray, Ty Moore of Benton, Tory Driskill of Louisville, Kentucky, Gabe Driskill of North Carolina, Annie Beard of Henderson, Tennessee, and Blake Beard of Benton;  six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Driskill; three sisters, Lola Phelps, Della Smith, and Tommie Vied; five brothers, Robert Barrett, Charles Barrett, Woodrow Barrett, JD Barrett, and Wesley Barrett; one infant sibling; and her parents, Sam and Cornelia Barrett.

Expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Briensburg Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Briensburg Baptist Church with Bro. Brad Walker and Chris Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Marshall County Memory Gardens.
