
Patricia Ann Overby Chambers, known affectionately to all as Pat, passed away at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah. Born on August 19, 1936, in Paducah, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of Harry and Racheal Smith Overby.
Pat shared 63 wonderful years with her beloved husband, Buddy Chambers, before his passing. Together, they brought into the world a loving family, including their daughter, Julia Diane Chambers Hunt, and husband, Michael of Paducah, Kentucky; sons, Mark Alan Chambers, and wife Joni and Joe Pat Chambers, and wife Erika all residents of Paducah. She delighted in the joys of being a grandmother to Hillary Rose Chambers Landry, and husband James, Sydney Nicole Chambers Arant, and husband, Cody, Madelyn Diane Chambers, Maxwell Hamilton Chambers, and Heidi McCall Chambers, and further celebrated life with the addition of two great-grandchildren, Vallie Rose Landry and Katie James Landry; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lin Chambers; her sisters, Vickie Beyer, Gertrude Shaffer, and Mary Jo Hart; and her brothers, Martin Leroy Overby and Harry Donald Overby.
Professionally, Pat was a dedicated secretary for Chambers Roofing Company, where her hard work and warmth were appreciated by all who knew her. She was a devout member of High Point Pentecostal Church, fervently living out her faith. Additionally, she devoted herself to the Eastern Star in her earlier years, where she had served as Worthy Matron.
Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and faith-filled, Pat’s nurturing presence was a comfort to her family and friends. Her compassionate spirit and generous heart-shaped the lives of many and created a legacy that will continue to inspire generations. Pat’s life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Doug Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
