Mrs. Margie Nell Lyons, 92

Mrs. Margie Nell Lyons, 92, of Murray, KY, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mayfield, KY.

 

She was born February 29, 1932, in Murray, KY, to the late Roy and Velma (Booker) Lee of the Palestine community. She was employed at Fisher Price Toys and was a greeter at Wal-Mart for many years.

 

Margie is survived by a son, Steve Lyons, wife Sharon; grandchildren, Heather Myers, Chad Lyons, Ben Lyons, and Scott Jones, wife Beth, and Cassie Jones; great-grandchildren, Ashley Lyons, Tyson Searer, Chadwick Lyons, Chandler Lyons, Avery Lyons, Johnathan Jones, Tiffany Tucker, and Aubrey Esmon; great- great-grandchildren, Colton Jones, Dean Jones and B.B. Lyons; nieces, Sharon Bybee, husband Buddy, and Karen Brandon; and nephew, Michael Brandon.

 

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, L.W. (Dub) Lyons, whom she married December 22, 1951, in Corinth, Mississippi. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janie Underwood; two grandsons, Mark Lyons and Kenny Myers; and two sisters, Hazel Lee and Willadean Brandon.

 

A service celebrating Margie’s life will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, with Bro. Ronnie Burkeen officiating. Burial will take place at a later date, in the Palestine Cemetery, Dexter, KY.

 

Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 South 4th Street, Murray, KY.
