Charlie Joe “CJ” Edging, 44, of Calvert City, Kentucky passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in his wife Samantha’s arms as promised with his son Jaxon crawling around on him and his daughter Kayla holding him at Vanderbilt University Hospital.

CJ was a lifelong tow trucker and worked for Bailey’s Towing in Calvert City, an amazing family-owned business that made sure the last year of his life he did not have to worry.

CJ loved to go fishing at Land Between the Lakes and four-wheeling in Soldier Creek. The most amazing thing happened to CJ two years ago as he became a father. His life the last two years was giving his son Jaxon all he had. CJ was saved several years ago and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Golconda, Illinois where he loved going.

Proceeded in death by his father Julian Edging and one brother Anthony Edging.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Samantha Edging, and his son Jaxon Cole; daughters, Kayla Kruger and Marie Reynolds; his mother, Jerrie Hamilton Edging of Calvert City; sister, Regina (Moe) Clemente, Tres, Jiovanni, and Josanni; sister, Candy Smith; mother-in-law Rhonda Stevenson; Family, Tyler (Amber) Hayes, Treven and Easten; Randy (Katie) Stevenson, Parker and Lyla; Destiny (Tay) Johnson, Aniyah, Chase and Nova; Juliana (Leo) Ewbank, Wyatt, Anthony, Westen, Cainen, and Salem; Alyssa (Austin) Jackson, Maci (moo moo), Adalynn, Ayden, and River, Brooke; Alex (Destin) Dunn, Harper; Zachary (Megan) Foster, Elizabeth, Nick, Taylor, Abby and Maci; Brothers from another mother, Joe Tucker, Robert Grant, Derrick Draffen, Chad “Hubkap” Morgan, and Michael Ratliff.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025 with Bro. Sean King officiating. Burial to follow at New Hope Baptist Cemetery.
