She was a member of the former Sedalia United Methodist Church where she served for many years as the treasurer and after their closure, she was then a member of The First United Methodist Church in Mayfield. She was a graduate of Farmington High School, a retired employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, ASCS office in Mayfield, and a former member of the Homemakers Club. She loved spending her time gardening, tending to her flowers, watching the martins and hummingbirds from her back patio, and traveling with her husband after retirement. She was an avid UK basketball fan, whose enthusiasm may have caused a few noise complaints. Later in life, she again found joy in watching her hummingbirds outside her window at The Bungalows, and her time spent playing Aggravation and Bingo. She was known for her cream potatoes, Thanksgiving dressing, hot chocolate, cookies, salmon patties, and her hall closet full of snack cakes for all her family (children and adults alike). The family is very grateful for her caregivers at The Bungalows and the amazing sitters who became like family to her.
