On 08/11/2024, Jaycub M. Smock (22) of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested when the vehicle he was operating was stopped on Champion Drive in Marshall County. Mr. Smock was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st offense (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle, Jade Sharp (25) of Benton KY, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 08/10/2024, Randy J. Campbell (52) of Calvert City, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant issued out of Marshall District Court for the charge of Assault 4th degree.
On 08/12/2024, deputies stopped a vehicle being operated by a Sydney Gutierrez (27) of Deland IL. Vehicle was stopped on Truck Plaza Drive in Calvert City. Ms. Gutierrez was arrested and charged with no insurance, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a legend drug and other traffic offense. The passenger in the vehicle, Stephen Newton 34 of Benton KY, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree.
On 08/10/2024, Joseph Novotny (47) of Springfield TN, was arrested when deputies were called to a residence due to a call for assistance. Novotny was charged with strangulation 1st degree.
On 8/11/2024, Johnny O’Bryan (53) of Benton KY, was arrested when the vehicle that he was operating was stopped on Barge Island Rd in Marshall County. Mr. O’Bryan was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence 1st offense, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and reckless driving.
On 08/13/2024, Austin Sporea (23) of Calvert City KY, was arrested when the vehicle he was operating was stopped on US 68 in Marshall County. Mr. Sporea was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance 1st offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and other traffic offense.
On 08/13/2024, Corey Warford (29) of Hardin KY and Mark Brown (47) of Hardin KY were both arrested when deputies went to their residence to serve an active warrants on the men. While arresting Mr. Warford for the Failure to appear warrant issued out of Calloway district court, Mr. Warford was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Mr. Warford was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Brown was arrested on his bench warrant for failure to pay fines issued out of Calloway District Court. Mr. Brown was also found to be in possession of a firearm that had the serial number removed. Brown was also arrested for possession of a defaced firearm. The investigation is continuing.
On 08/12/2024, Justina Edwards (37) of Benton KY, was arrested and served a criminal complaint warrant for the charges of promoting contraband 1st degree and trafficking in a controlled substance 2nd degree. Case was investigated by the Benton Police Department.
On 08/12/2024, Ryan Ellis (34) of Kevil KY, was arrested when deputies responded to a vehicle parked in the roadway on Oak Level Rd. Deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle and identified him as Mr. Ellis. Mr. Ellis was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substances 1st degree and possession of marijuana.
On 08/12/2024, Scott Anderson (35) of Benton KY, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant for the charge of promoting contraband 1st degree and trafficking in a controlled substance. This case was investigated by the Benton Police Department.
On 08/12/2024, James D. Bailey (27) of Murray KY, was arrested when the vehicle was operating was stopped on US 641 N in Marshall County. Mr. Bailey was arrested and charged with driving on a dui suspended license and violation of conditions of release.
