Marshall County golf teams swept the team titles at Saturday’s Paducah Tilghman Invitational at Paxton Park Golf Course. For the Marshals, it was their sixth straight title and they took the win by two strokes over host Paducah Tilghman with a team score of 303. McCracken County finished third in the field of 17 teams with a score of 312.
Ryan Stokes shot the low round for the Marshals with an even par 71. Stokes finished in a three-way tie which forced a playoff with Paducah Tilghman’s Evan Hack and McCracken County’s Landon Hunt. Hunt won the playoff to take the individual title.
The rest of the Marshall County scoring came from Brooks Lamb and Nolan Hurst with 77 each, Paxton Carter shot 78 and Anderson Jones 85. Marshall County individual scores – Kyzer Phillips 79, Dawson Hicks 82, Cruz Cocke 91 and Andrew Kimbro 92.
The Lady Marshals topped a field of eight teams to win the title with a score of 323. Henderson County finished second with 347 and McCracken County third with a score of 361.
Katie Roberts finished tied for second after shooting a 4-over 75. CeCelia Ray shot 79, Skylar Waller 84, Kelli Roberts 85 and Brooklyn Cunningham 90. Charlee Murphy played as an individual and finished with a score of 95.
Ballard Memorial’s Madison Glisson won the individual title with a 2-over 73.
Up next, the Marshals will play a match on Thursday against Paducah Tilghman at Calvert City Golf and Country Club. Both teams will play in the Graves County Invitational on Saturday at Drake Creek Golf Course.
