Kathy Marie Sytsma, departed this life on August 5, 2024, at Baptist Health of Paducah. Born on December 2, 1956, Kathy’s journey through life was marked by love, faith, and an enduring strength that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Kathy spent her formative years in Paducah, graduating from Tilghman High School. Her vocational path led her to a purposeful career as a caregiver for the elderly, where her compassionate nature found its true expression. Her commitment to caring for others was matched only by her deep and abiding faith. She knew her Bible cover to cover, a testament to the love and guidance she found within its pages. Kathy’s interests spanned from immersing herself in the latest books to expressing her love through the culinary delights she created in the kitchen. She had a special bond with her grandson Dakota, one that was nurtured with each moment they spent together.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Rachel Jean Wilson (Jason); one grandson, Dakota Wilson; sisters Jean Emerson and Marilyn Stewart; and brothers Bill McBride and Pat McBride.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert Sytsma; one sister Sue Burnett; and brothers Timmy and Bobby McBride.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Milner &n Orr Funeral home of Paducah with Pastor John Akin officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will take place at a later date.
