Bernice Carlyle Wray, 74, of Kevil, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Bernice was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She decorated cakes for many years. Later in life she switched to helping her husband, Gary Wray, with his commercial fishing business. Bernice was an UK basketball fan. She attended Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church in Cairo.
Bernice is survived by two children, Wendy Faire and Kari Norman; six grandchildren, Lance (Victoria) Dakin, Brittany Dakin, Jacob (Araceli) Wissinger, Derek Wissinger, Autumn Dunn, and Carson Dunn; five great-grandchildren, Landen Crice, Aileen Wissinger, Logan, Reina Wissinger, and Kami Wissinger; four sisters, Sue Boyer, Linda Rushing, Glenda Morgan, and Pat Faire; one brother, Max Carlyle; her beloved cat, Lucy; and several other loving family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wray; her parents, Frank and Sally Carlyle; one grandson, Kam Chumbler; two sisters, Eula Matheny and Janie Busch; and six brothers, Raymond Carlyle, Harold Carlyle, Ed Carlyle, Sam Carlyle, Gilbert Carlyle, and Don Carlyle.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
