
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people in connection with drug investigations over the past week in McCracken County.
On 07/16/2024 detectives stopped a vehicle on South 6th Street in Paducah. During the roadside investigation detectives located small quantities of Methamphetamine, synthetic Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year-old Joshua Luna, was charged in connection with the drugs.
In early July detectives investigated Fentanyl trafficking in the Lone Oak area of McCracken County. A McCracken County Grand Jury heard testimony from a drug detective and indicted 27-year-old Lucas Carter of Gilbertsville, KY and 22-year-old Brenda Morefield of Benton, KY on two counts of trafficking in Fentanyl. Morefield and Carter were both arrested during traffic stops in McCracken County. Morefield was arrested on 07/17/2024 and Carter was arrested on 07/22/24.
On 07/24/2024 detectives received information that 46-year-old Troy Ashford of La Center, KY was involved in illegal drug activities at Carson Park in Paducah. Detectives located Ashford. During the investigation detectives conducted a search of Ashford’s vehicle and located small quantities of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The investigation also revealed that Ashford had trafficked in small quantities of Marijuana. Ashford was arrested.
Luna, Carter, and Morefield were lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. Ashford was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.

Arrested: Brenda Morefield, 22, of Benton, KY
Charges: Two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree (Fentanyl)
Arrested: Lucas Carter, 27, of Gilbertsville, KY
Charges: Two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree (Fentanyl)
Arrested: Troy Ashford, 46, of La Center, KY
