Isabelle Washburn, graduate of Marshall County High School, was recognized as the 2024 winner of the Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship at a recent meeting of the Marshall County Republican Women. Elsie Riley, former recipient, was the Guest Speaker for the program. Ms. Riley challenged Isabelle to remain true to herself as she faced her new environment. She acknowledged that it is comforting to have support from family, old and new friends and the Republican Women.
Isabelle has chosen to attend Murray State University working towards a medical degree in Pediatrics. Her parents are Dave and Jennifer Washburn.
The Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship sponsored by the Marshall County Republican Women is available to senior girls from any Marshall County High School or Home School Program. Monies for the Scholarship are raised through various fund-raising events throughout the year. The Women have provided several girls with the award since 2007, totaling a little over $31,000. Specific qualifications and applications will be available later this year for 2025 applicants.
The Marshall County Republican Women meet on the second Tuesday of each month at Republican Headquarters on the Benton Court Square at 11:30 AM.
