Myrlin Thweatt, 92 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, Kentucky.
Myrlin was born in Marshall County, Kentucky on February 24, 1932 to the late Coleman Nichols and Tula Peck Nichols. She was a long time member, as well as the former secretary and organist of First Baptist Church of Benton.
She is survived by her son, Steve Cary (Cynthia) of Benton, KY; grandchildren, Cleve Cary, Lance Cary, Blake Cary, Chase Cary, Shawna Cary, Traci Holland, Beth Cary, Alyssa Cary and Lynsi Beckett; 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard “Shorty” Cary; her second husband, Headley Thweatt; her son, Frank Cary; brothers, Frank Nichols and John Nichols; and sister, Martha Long.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Hudgin officiating. Burial to follow at the Benton Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home, Inc. located at 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025.
