Etta “LuLu” Louise Hall, 68, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at home on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Etta was born on June 15, 1956, to Lenual and Jane Hall in Chicago, Illinois. After Etta graduated from Morton West High School (Berwyn, Illinois) in 1974, she went on to spend her career in construction administration.
In 1990, Etta gave birth to the light of her life, Justin, and stepped into her true life’s calling as a mother. Justin was her greatest joy, and anyone who met her even for a moment was sure to hear how proud she was of him and of his service in the U.S. Navy, in particular.
She loved all her family fiercely and was the mother hen of a clan of nine brothers and sisters. Ever the hostess, it was the norm for some or all of those siblings and their families to be found in her home, and she loved it best when the house was full to overflowing with her family. She never met a stranger and welcomed those who joined the family by birth or marriage with open arms. Loved by all, she was truly the glue of the family and rock, helper, and confidante to all who knew her.
Etta had a deep, abiding faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even when faced with life-altering news, she had the confidence that, in her words, “God has got my back.” It was because of her faith in God’s love and grace that she lived each day with the attitude of one of her favorite songs knowing that, in the end, “every little thing is going to be all right.”
Etta is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Jordan Pogue of Paducah; two brothers, Lenual (Lynne) Hall of Memphis, Tennessee, and Gary (Ladonna) Hall of Paducah; two sisters, Tana Rambo of Paducah, and Lana Hall of Jacksonville, Florida; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters Leoda Richardson, Joan Hall, Shirley Miller, and Janice Harris.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Bro. Brian Arnold officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St .Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105.
