
LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE
- On Friday, May 24, 2024, around 4:48pm, Deputy Josh Travis responded to a two-vehicle non-injury collision at the intersection of I-24 and US 62 in Kuttawa. His investigation revealed a 2010 Nissan Altima, driven by Cari J. Gibson (37) of Calvert City was making a left turn at the end of the exit ramp onto US 62 when she failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of a Westbound 2023 Toyota Rav4 driven by Tyler Veale (29) of Cincinnati, OH. In an attempt to avoid colliding with the Nissan, Veale steered to the right but impacted the Gibson vehicle in the rear driver’s side fender. There were no injuries reported in the collision.
- On Monday, May 27, 2024, around 3:15am, Deputy David Carroll responded to assist Lyon County EMS after they were dispatched to a Kuttawa motel for a patient with breathing problems. Once on scene, Deputy Carroll observed illegal narcotics in the room and attempted to detain a female, identified as Andrea M. Breedlove (35) of Princeton. Breedlove physically resisted arrest and was the recipient of a Taser deployment. She was taken into custody without further incident and charged with Resisting Arrest. A male subject in the room was identified as Heath A. Rogers (48) of Princeton. He was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree (Methamphetamine). Rogers was transported by Lyon EMS to Caldwell Medical Center and Breedlove was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. Sheriff Brent White assisted Deputy Carroll at the scene.
- On Monday, May 27, 2024, around 9:45am, Sheriff Brent White was dispatched to a Kuttawa motel for a welfare check on a young mother and infant child. Upon his arrival, it was determined there had been a disturbance which resulted in the 9-1-1 call. A male identified as Christopher T. Wills (29) of Louisville was arrested by Sheriff White on a bench warrant from Bullitt County where he failed to appear or pay regarding a court case in that jurisdiction. He was also charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Wills later posted a cash bond and was released from custody.
- On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, around 1:20pm, Sheriff Brent White was in the Suwanee community on an unrelated complaint when he observed Eric L. Poe (35) of Kuttawa, departing a residence on KY 810 North. Sheriff White arrested Poe on a Lyon District Court bench warrant for contempt of court in a child support case. Poe was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
- On Thursday, May 30, 2024, around 3:30pm, Deputy Michelle Kent was dispatched to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision in Kuttawa. Her investigation revealed a 2018 Ford, driven by Clayton O. Oliver (39) of Kalkaska, MI was pulling a boat trailer and attempting to park in a grass lot off 5th Street when the trailer in tow collided with a parked and unoccupied 2010 Lincoln MKZ owned by John P. Rowland (50) of Eddyville. No injuries were reported in the collision.
- On Friday, May 31, 2024, around 12:30pm, Sheriff Brent White was dispatched to a two-vehicle, non-injury collision at a Kuttawa business. His investigation revealed a 2014 Lexus, driven by Frank W. Zollo (55) of Wellington, FL was pulling a boat trailer and attempting to park off Buzzard Rock Road when the trailer in tow collided with a parked and unoccupied 2015 Chevrolet Suburban owned by Norman D. Tanner (65) of Cape Girardeau, MO. No injuries were reported in the collision.
- On Friday, May 31, 2024, around 7:15pm, Deputies Michelle Kent and Josh Travis responded to a fight in progress call at a Kuttawa restaurant. The investigation revealed two employees engaged in a verbal argument which led to a physical altercation. One party left prior to the arrival of law enforcement. The investigation is continuing by Deputy Michelle Kent.
- On Friday, May 31, 2024, just before 9pm, Deputies Michelle Kent and Josh Travis responded to a suspicious person complaint on KY 93 North. They located two people walking on the roadway and identified one of them as Joshua L. Cortez (30) of Hopkinsville. Deputy Kent arrested Cortez on a Christian Circuit Court bench warrant for a Probation Violation for a Felony Offense. He was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
