Robert “Bob: Hobgood, age 84, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. Bob was a member for over 40 years of the Lone Oak First Baptist Church where he served many years as a trustee. He retired from United Parcel Service after 25 years of dedicated service. He was an avid fisherman and spent untold hours with his family on Kentucky Lake. He loved to read and in later life, he began to write songs. One of his greatest joys was watching his great-grandchildren play.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carla Bishop Hobgood, and one daughter, Tracey (Don) Mader of Weatherford, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Melanie Hobgood of Ventura, CA; three grandchildren, Kyler (Courtney) Hobgood of Calvert City, Kentucky, Alec Mader of Weatherford, Texas, and Chloe Hobgood of Calvert City, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Zain and Charlie Mae Hobgood; one sister-in-law, Diane Siegel (Norman) of Vero Beach, FL; three brothers, Rick (Susan) Lahndorff of Springfield, Illinois, Greg Lanhndorff, and Scott (Linda) Lanhdorff both of Paducah, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Bill McCormick of Paducah and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was one son, Robert Evan Hobgood; parents, William “Bill” Hobgood and Colleen Hobgood; one brother, William “Snooks” Hobgood; and one sister, Pat McCormick.
Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Thomas and Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 12:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
