Greg Lyles, age 59, of Benton, KY, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. Mr. Lyles worked several years as an operator at Gerdau Ameristeel and currently worked as an armed security guard for Loomis. He was a member of Twin Lakes Worship Center, American Legion Post 236 and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He loved going on vacation with his family to the Rocky Mountains. Mr. Lyles was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed grilling and cooking. Mr. Lyles was an American Patriot who served in the Army National Guard of Kentucky.
He was the son of the late James “Jack” Lyles and the late Martha (Chambers) Lyles. He was also preceded in death by his brother Chuck McClanahan.
He is survived by his wife: Melanie (Gamble) Lyles of Benton, KY; two daughters: Heather York and husband Brad of Benton, KY; and Whitney Durst and husband Ryan of Freeport, FL; one brother: Steve Washburn of Benton, KY; and two grandchildren: Londyn and Lincoln York.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. The family invites friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral to follow, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Twin Lakes Worship Center with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.
