Marshall County anglers to compete in KHSAA Region 1 Bass Fishing Tournament

to Area high school anglers will fish in the KHSAA Region 1 Bass Fishing Tournament out of Kuttawa Harbor Marina on Lake Barkley on Friday, May 3. The tournament was originally scheduled for this Saturday, April 27, but postponed due to an extended forecast showing dangerously high winds. Take-off on May 3 will be at 6:30 a.m. with weigh-in beginning at 2:30.

Representing Marshall County at regionals are Drake Fooshee, Carson Lovett, Maxson Mitchell, Hayden Gray, Steven Wilhelm, Tucker Travis, Ty Redden, Clayton Wyatt, Zach Henly, Kasen Lewzader, Blake Powell, Jaxon Jones and Hadlee Frizzell.

In recent tournaments, Marshall County teams made six appearances in top 20 results. On March 3 in the Dave Stewart SAF Tournament out of Kentucky Dam Marina, three teams finished in the top 20. Drake Fooshee and Carson Lovett placed third with five fish weighing in a 17.07, Jaxson Jones and Blake Powell placed fifth with five fish at 16.06 and Clayton Wyatt and Ty Redden took 19th with three fish weighing 8.09.

Top 20 results for the Marshall County anglers in the SAF High School Trail Tournament on April 20 out of Kuttawa included three teams. Hayden Gray and Maxson Mitchell finished fourth with a five fish weight of 13.08, Tucker Trais and Steven Wilhelm finished eighth with four fish weighing 12.09 and Drake Fooshee and Carson Lovett placed 12th with four fish weighing 10.12.
