
Marshall County’s Lady Marshals won three and lost one in games last week to improve to 8-3. They picked up two wins on Thursday and Friday in games that went five innings. Thursday they beat Hickman County 16-2 and Friday beat Massac County 14-3.
Saturday in the Trigg County Invitational, the Lady Marshals beat Owensboro Catholic 2-1 before falling 26-0 in three innings to Greenwood.
In Thursday’s 16-2 win over Hickman County (1-5), the Lady Marshals combined for 19 hits and were led at the plate by Chevelle Henson who went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Merriel Jackson was 3-for-4 with a double and batted in five runs, Chloe Coursey was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Madyson Morton was 3-for-4 and brought in a run.
Gracelyn Darnall picked up the five-inning win, allowing five hits, two runs but no earned while striking out four.

Allicen Harris earned the win from the circle over Massac County on Friday over five innings, striking out five and giving up five hits and three runs.
Trinlee Anderson was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 with a double, home run and five RBIs. Harris was also a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, Marin Oakley had two hits including a double and drove in two run and Madyson Morton hit a two-run triple. The Lady Marshals combined for 12 hits in the five inning 14-3 win.

In Saturday’s 2-1 win over Owensboro Catholic (6-2), Harris went the distance to earn the win, striking out eight, giving up five hits and no earned runs. The Lady Marshals four hits came from Madyson Morton and Trinlee Anderson each with a doubles and Marin Oakley and Harris each had a hit.
The two runs were scored in the bottom of the fifth on Morton’s double and a steal of home plate by Macy McLeod.

Greenwood (7-2) ended the Lady Marshals day early at the Trigg County Invitational. Their 26-0 win came on 21 hits, 12 in the first inning and 14 in the second.
Abigail Byrd pitched the three-inning shutout, striking out five and walking one. Kate Rippy, Cali Huff and Savannah White all hit homers. Rippy finished 3-for-4 with seven RBIs, Huff was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and White 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Macie Murray added three runs for the Lady Gators on a triple.
The loss went to Gracelyn Darnall who surrendered 10 hits and 12 runs.

The first two games of this week were canceled. They will be back in action on Thursday in a district game at Murray High (3-6) before heading to the Florida Softball Beach Bash in Fort Walton Beach over Spring Break.
