Mr. Garland was a Tow Boat Engineer and he was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Garland of Paducah; two sons, James Garland of Paducah, Thomas Garland of Paducah; three brothers, David Garland of Alabama, James Edward Garland of Hardin, Alan McGraw of Arizona; three sisters, Judith Storey of Benton, Sue Chambliss of Alabama, Jewell Jones of Benton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Garland and Virginia (Choate) Garland.
Private memorial service will be held at a later date.
