Re: Stolen Exotic Car Theft Investigation
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the theft of multiple items and vehicles from a location within Graves County. Items including a motorhome, 1951 Ford Red Belly Tractor, 1979 Ford 6600 Tractor, 1984 Chevrolet pickup, and including a 1962 Ferrari 250GTE which is valued anywhere from $100,000 dollars and up towards the 780,000-dollar mark. Some of the vehicles were stolen from buildings.
As part of the ongoing investigation, deputies conducted some random checks with nationally known exotic car brokers within the United States, one of which was from the state of New York. The dealer actually confirmed that he had been contacted by two individuals from Graves County about wanting to sell the car. The dealer from New York came to Graves County and paid the sellers $130,000 dollars for the 1962 Ferrari 250GTE, and later sent a transport truck to Graves County. The vehicle was later sold and delivered to another dealer in the state of Texas. The two sellers of this stolen car were identified as being 33 year old Teri Bush, and 45 year old Richard (Ricky) W. Cook both of Graves County. The identification of these two suspects were independently confirmed by additional investigation.
Both Bush and Cook reside in the 300 block of Ky Hwy 301 near the Clear Springs area of Graves County. Arrest warrants were obtained for both suspects as well as a search warrant for their shared residence.
At around 4PM this date, sheriff’s deputies and detectives went to the home and took Bush into custody. Cook was not present.
A search of the residence yielded related paperwork from the sale of the stolen vehicle that contained forged and or fictitious information. In addition, numerous loaded firearms, semi automatic pistols, rifles, and shot guns were recovered.
Cook is a convicted felon numerous times over with felony and other convictions including: four (4) Counts of Bail Jumping, at least five (5) convictions for Receiving Stolen Property, Credit Card Fraud, Resisting Arrest, and Theft, and cannot legally possess firearms.
The investigation into all of the other stolen property which is all from one victim is still under investigation. If anyone has purchased any of this property from either of these two suspects, they are asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
Arrested: Bush, Teri S. age 33
of Graves County.
Charges: Theft of Property Valued at over $10,000 dollars but under 1 million
Theft by Deception over $10,000
Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree
Burglary 3rd Degree
Forgery 2nd Degree
Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
Criminal Trespass 1st Degree
Bush was transported to an out of county jail facility.
Active arrest warrants have been issued by a judge for Ricky W. Cook charging him with offenses including the same charges that were filed on Teri Bush. He is also facing illegal firearm possession charges.
Cook is aware that he is wanted. If anyone has any information as to his whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Graves County Sheriff’s Office or any law enforcement agency.
Sheriff’s Deputy John Cavin is the lead on this investigation.
