J.W. Hendrickson, age 80, of Benton, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at Calvert City Convalescent Center.
He was born in Marshall County on November 15, 1943 to Clint Hendrickson and Hazel Bohannon Hendrickson. J.W. worked as a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Local 181 Operating Engineers for 50 years until his retirement. He was a faithful, lifelong member of Vanzora Baptist Church. During his downtime, he was a truck driver and was known as “Grasshopper”. J.W. was happiest whenever he was with his family, especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by two daughters, Becca Hendrickson and Karen Hendrickson, both of Benton; his wife, Beverly Hendrickson of Delaware, and his granddaughter, Autumn Vance.
J.W. was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service for J.W. will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Farmer officiating.
Burial will follow at Vanzora Baptist Church Cemetery.
The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home.
