Erik Keith Wicker passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in Queens, New York after an extensive and brave battle with cancer.
Erik was born on June 11, 1976, to the late Herbert Keith Wicker and Jeanette Grief Wicker. He was born in Paducah, KY and spent his childhood there before moving with his family to Owensboro, KY. Erik graduated from Daviess County High School with honors and an academic scholarship to Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting. A musician and artist, Erik pursued a career in New York City as a Graphic Designer beginning at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). He also worked at The New York Times and finished his career at Siegel+Gale.
Erik is survived by one daughter, Catherine Wicker, his mother Jeanette, and sister Nicole Cooper (Billy), two nieces, Kenna and Collins, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Keith, his paternal grandparents Herbert and Rachel Wicker, and his maternal grandparents Charles and Eloise Grief.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16th at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 12:30 pm. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church parish hall where lunch will be served immediately following the graveside service.
