Gov. Beshear Makes Appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 8, 2024) – Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has reappointed David Newman to the Motorcycle Safety Education Commission. Additionally, he has appointed Chris Baker and Tina Ferguson to the Commission.

  • David Newman of Louisville is the owner of KY Custom Cycles. He represents the Senate President as a member of the Commission and will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2027.
  • Chris Baker of Leitchfield is a Kentucky State Trooper. He represents the Kentucky State Police as a member of the Commission and replaces Marshall Johnson, who has resigned. Baker will serve for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2026.
  • Tina Ferguson of Frankfort is an employee of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. She represents the Cabinet as a member of the Commission and replaces Matthew Cole, whose term has expired. Tina Ferguson will serve for a term expiring Feb. 28, 2028.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Franklin Gray to the Kentucky Board of Architects.

  • Franklin Gray of Lexington is an architect at Gray Construction. He will serve for a term expiring Feb. 9, 2028.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Michael Robison and Marc Abrams to the Tourism Development Finance Authority.

  • Michael Robison of Shepherdsville is the owner of Michael W. Robison Construction Company Inc. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 31, 2028.
  • Marc Abrams of Louisville is the Director of Operations at Sonder Living. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 31, 2028.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Mary Woolridge and Diana Woods to the Kentucky African-American Heritage Commission. Additionally, he has appointed Wendell Lynch to the Commission.

  • Mary Woolridge of Louisville is a former member of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Council. She represents the public at-large as a member of the Kentucky African-American Heritage Commission and will serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2028.
  • Diana Woods of Lexington is a retired educator. She represents the public at-large as a member of the Commission and will serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2028.
  • Wendell Lynch of Hopkinsville is a former councilman and mayor of Hopkinsville. He represents the public at-large as a member of the Commission and replaces Wayne Tuckson, who resigned and whose term subsequently expired. Wendell Lynch will serve for a term expiring March 4, 2028.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Stacy Stanifer to the Kentucky Board of Radon Safety.

  • Stacy Stanifer of Lexington is an associate professor at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. She represents public health organizations as a member of the Board and replaces Ellen Hahn, who has resigned. Stanifer will serve the remainder of the unexpired term expiring June 30, 2024.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Judge/Executive Queenie Averette and Tonya Lindsey to the Kentucky State Corrections Commission. Additionally, he has appointed Brian Morris and Greg Dearing to the Commission.

  • Queenie Averette of Louisville serves as judge/executive of Jefferson County. She represents county judge/executives as a member of the Commission and will serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2027.
  • Tonya Lindsey of Lexington is the founder of Sisters and Supporters Working Against Gun Violence (SWAG). She represents victims as a member of the Commission and will serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2027.
  • Brian Morris of Pikeville is the jailer of Pike County. He represents county jailers as a member of the Commission and replaces Amy Brady, whose term has expired. Brian Morris will serve for a term expiring March 5, 2027.
  • Greg Dearing of Louisville is a former law office manager. He represents the public at-large as a member of the Commission and replaces Mary Easterling, whose term has expired. Greg Dearing will serve for a term expiring March 5, 2027.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Kimber Heddens as a member of the Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission. Additionally, he has appointed Emily Herron and Connor Tilford as members of the Commission.

  • Kimber Heddens of Henderson is the Secretary and Treasurer of the Henderson City-County Airport Board. He will serve for a term expiring Aug. 8, 2027.
  • Emily Herron of Beaver Dam is the Airport Manager of Madisonville Regional Airport. She replaces Timothy Talton, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring March 5, 2028.
  • Connor Tilford of Walton is the Area Manager for Sortation at AmazonAir. He replaces Michael Betson, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring March 5, 2028.
